Topsides painting complete!

For two weeks, Islander was enclosed in a tent while her topsides were sanded, filled, painted with barrier coat, sanded again, primed, sanded again, and finally sprayed with a shiny white top coat. Today, the tent was removed. Then a bright red vinyl stripe was applied and her name Islander and her home port of Las Caciques, Panama was added to her stern. Tomorrow, the swim ladder and the Monitor wind vane self-steering mechanism will be reinstalled. As soon as I could get on board, I put up the dodger, bimini, and tarps. It is now time to clean and organize the interior of the boat. Posted by Barbara.
