Kelly up the mast

One of the improvements we made to Islander before heading across the Pacific was to have mast steps added to Islander’s mast. While we were staying at Flamenco Marina, having passed through the Panama Canal from the Caribbean side, we met Ali Bauhaus. Eric Bauhaus, Ali’s son, wrote the indispensable guide for cruisers visiting Panama. Ali is a metalworker. He hand-crafted and installed mast steps for Islander.
